Just before a stunning sunset photo-op I grabbed a picture of our yard after a day of much trimming, cutting, splitting. As you can see after the jump there was some stacking of wood as well.
The three large birch that were cut down were not healthy and are also sitting with some other tree trunks in the upper right of the picture above. If everything works out right the wood will be used for furniture and interior paneling!

Welcome!
Welcome to Björkilden! My wife Barbro and I moved to Sweden a year and a half ago and with some luck we were able to rent our house before we made an offer to buy. As one may gather from the first picture of the blog it is a perfect example of a Swedish home complete with apple trees, red painted house, many extra buildings and of course a flag pole!
This picture was taken in the spring last year as all the buds were just beginning to form. At the same time we were also beginning to form out ideas about our new home and how we would like to use it and live in it. Now with a few plans we are ready to begin forming this beautiful little piece of home and land.
In the next few posts we will show you what we are starting with in the house and out on the land.
See you soon!
